Artist statement:

My work speaks of the internal conflict of feeling both lost and loved, connected and disconnected to a lineage that is
distant and ever-present. I am drawn to the powerful emotions that come with navigating the world as a black woman from Haiti. My work primarily focuses on the human figure. I explore the essence and depth of people’s personalities. Using oil paints as my primary medium, I capture the meaning of the human experience and the meaning of black identity.
